The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo in his 7th COVID-19 public address has declared a lift of the ban on restricted movements.
According to the President, the three-week-long lockdown has helped achieve the aims of contact tracing and treatment. He further admonished the public to take precautionary measures such as wearing nose masks and regular hand washing as they go about their movements.

This declaration by the President has received mixed reactions among the public. A fraction of the public was seen jubilating in a viral video right after the President’s declaration according to reports by MyOnline.
Another fraction of the population sees the President’s action as one that will cause more harm than good to the nation. They took to Twitter to express their feelings:
Ban being lifted after 1000+ cases reported🧐. Something smells fishy or shall I say there’s a political agenda aroma around this lift.

The President keeps saying "if you stop moving, the virus stops moving".
But the President now says we are free to move as we please.
And he is trusting 29 million Ghanaians to be sensible.
Right? Right.
The worst part about this lifting of the Partial Lockdown is when you do everything Right, wear mask, use sanitizer, wash hands and then Someone, somewhere, who chooses to ignore or not prioritize the safety precautions will literally deliver it to you in a shared space.😢🙆🏾♀️
