Dr. Kobby Mensah , a political marketing expert at the University Of Ghana Business School has revealed that both the President Nana Akofo-Addo and Ex-President John Mahama are leveraging on Covid-19 to indirectly campaign ahead of the general elections in December.
Speaking on Joy News’ PM Express show, Dr. Mensah revealed that the president is guilty of using his national covid-19 addresses to campaign. He cited the President’s recent promise of building new hospitals as an example.
Dr. Mensah also suggested that the sharing of foodstuffs in the name of philanthropy by President Mahama as well as the New Patriotic Party are clearly signs of buying the vote and support of the people.
According to him, the Electoral Commission is to blame for allowing these acts to take place since they have not put in place any guidelines regarding political campaigning on social media.
