Dr Badu Sarkodie, Director of Public Health at the Ghana Health Service has apologized on behalf of the service for publishing contradicting figures on their webpage.
On Tuesday 26th of May, the service published 7,367 and 7,117 as figures of confirmed cases fifteen minutes apart. This left many Ghanaians confused as to the authenticity of the results.
Dr. Badu, speaking at the Ministry of Information’s Covid-19 press briefing, apologized to the entire nation for the error committed. He attributed the mistake to the stress of working for long hours.
He further explained that neither the man responsible for the error nor the Ghana Health Service has any intention of massaging the Covid-19 figures.
