Ghanaian actress, Lydia Forson has called on the media to use local languages in educating people about the Coronavirus.
Speaking in relation to the breach of the lockdown direction by residents of Chorkor on Easter Monday, the actress revealed that, the excessive use of English to convey information and focusing on social media and televised sensitization are the main causes of non-compliance among some citizens.
According to her, a chunk of the Country’s population is not well educated thus their inability to fully understand the severity of the Coronavirus.
She revealed that “the abrofo3m is clearly not working” and as such, she suggested the use of alternatives such as local languages and the authority of Chiefs in order to reach everyone in the country
